Gutex was founded in 1932 in the Black Forest and is still an independent, family-owned company today. From the very beginning, the focus has been on developing natural building materials that combine technical performance with environmental responsibility. With more than 90 years of experience, Gutex is now one of Europe’s leading manufacturers of wood fibre insulation.
A major milestone was the development of the dry manufacturing process for homogeneous wood fibre insulation boards. As the first producer worldwide, Gutex introduced a continuous process that allows boards of up to 240 millimetres thickness. This innovation not only improved the quality and versatility of the products but also reduced energy use and CO₂ emissions significantly, underlining Gutex’s role as a pioneer in sustainable building.
In recent years, the company has continued to invest in modern technology. In 2023, a state-of-the-art production facility was commissioned at the Eschbach site, expanding capacity and increasing efficiency. These investments ensure not only reliable availability but also continuous progress towards even more environmentally friendly solutions.
